How long will it take to complete this program?

For the online Graduate Certificate in Behavior Analysis, you can complete the program in as few as three semesters (one year) if you take two courses per semester. If you take only one course per term, you can complete the program in as few as six semesters (two years). For the online Master of Education in Foundations in Behavior Analysis program, you can complete the program in as few as five semesters (20 months) if you take two courses per semester. If you take only one course per term, you can complete the program in about ten semesters (approximately three years).

How many credit hours and courses are required for graduation?

The online Graduate Certificate in Behavior Analysis program requires you to complete 18 semester hours (6 courses at 3 credits per course). The online Master of Education in Foundations in Behavior Analysis program requires you to complete 30 semester hours (10 courses at 3 credits per course).

Can I transfer credits I have already earned to this program?

For the online Graduate Certificate in Behavior Analysis program, all credits for this certificate must be earned at UC. Transfer credits are not permitted. If you have specific questions regarding transfer credits, please contact an Enrollment Advisor.
For the online Master of Education in Foundations in Behavior Analysis program, you may transfer up to nine credit hours (three courses) of graduate credit from a regionally accredited college or university if those courses are deemed to be equivalent to any of the four courses listed below:
  • SPSY 7043 Child Development
  • SPSY 8025 Family Intervention and Early Intervention OR SPSY 8024 Academic Assessment and Interventions (one must be taken with UC to meet the BACB’s certification coursework requirements)
  • SPSY 7042 Working with Cultural & Linguistic Diversity in School Psychology
  • SPSY 7044 Frameworks for Disabilities/Disorders SPP
Transfer credit will not be granted for the six courses required by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential.

No, the GRE is not required for entry into the online Behavior Analysis Graduate Certificate program or the online Master of Education in Foundations in Behavior Analysis program.

What are the entrance requirements?

For the both the Behavior Analysis Graduate Certificate and Master of Education in Foundations in Behavior Analysis programs, you must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in one of several areas related to Behavior Analysis and a 3.0 GPA (4.0). If your undergraduate GPA is below a 3.0, please contact an Enrollment Advisor to discuss your options. What is the tuition for the UC’s online graduate programs in Behavior Analysis?

In state: $724 per credit hour ($13,032 total for the Graduate Certificate program; $21,720 total for the MEd program)
Out-of-state: $739 per credit hour ($13,302 total for Graduate Certificate program; $22,170 total for the MEd program) )
For the online Graduate Certificate in Behavior Analysis program, there is a $20 application fee. For the online Master of Education in Foundations in Behavior Analysis program, there is a $65 application fee. You can expect book fees to run between $100 and $200 per semester.
