The University of Cincinnati has received high rankings by some of the best-known ranking entities in the nation. Classified as a Research University (Very High Research Activity) by the Carnegie Commission, it is also ranked as one of America’s top public research universities by the National Science Foundation.

U.S. News and World Report is well known for its ranking of universities in the United States. UC is #143 in the U.S. National Rankings for 2012. In order to be considered for ranking in the U.S. national university category, an institution must have a full range of majors, master’s, and doctoral degrees. In addition, it must be committed to producing groundbreaking research.

The Princeton Review’s Best 373 Colleges (2011) was awarded to the University of Cincinnati.

The University of Cincinnati is ranked by Money magazine as the #62 elite value in higher education – 2005 (most recent ranking by the magazine).

Forbes named UC among the world’s most beautiful college campuses. Others making that short list were Oxford University in England, Princeton University, Stanford University, Yale University, and the University of Virginia. (2010)
